Announcement



Many of the transcriptions found here are now in published form. They have been published by the Orange County Genealogical Society (in Goshen, New York). Volume 3 includes my Volume 3 and Volume 5. Volume 4 includes my four parts of New Milford history. There is a planned Volume 5, which will include my Volumes 6, 7, and 8, Part 1, which is about 250 transcriptions. They can be purchase through the Genealogical Society. Just Google them and print out the order form. Or they can be purchased from the Warwick Historical Society. They are also on sale at the gift shop at Baird's Tavern. I would like to thank the Genealogical Society and Dan Burrows for their efforts. Started a new blog for images of Warwick. Richard Schilling?



This post has to do with personal genealogy. My grandfather, on my mother's side, was Curtis Schilling,Sr. He owned the farm on Route 94 going to Florida - the horse farm on the right. Curtis came here from Germany in 1893 and his brother Richard followed in 1905. Teresa Specht is a neighbor of my fathter in Warwick, NY. The photo comes from Teresa. It appears that Richard married her aunt. Her name was Genevieve Koczewski, who came here in 1907 at age 8. Richard and Jenny married and had two children, Richard and Betty. There may have been a divorce and then a remarriage on Jenny's part. If anyone could help here, both Teresa and I would appreciate it.

    My brother went to Syracuse University with Curt Shilling. He had a sister, Marie Shilling. I had a sleep over with Marie at her home. You might find Curt in an SU alumni directory.
